Thelma Adams Taylor was born to the parentage of Wardell Adams and Alberta Adams on August 25, 1928, in Hallsville, Texas.
She began her education by attending the Hallsville School district, and later became employed by the Globetrotter/Globe Inn Motel in Longview, where she labored tirelessly and pridefully for 45 years.
On April 6, 1951, she united in Holy Matrimony with Ruben Taylor. She remained by his side until his passing in January 1984.
She began her Christian journey and joined the Northside Church of Christ at an early age. She later joined Cartersville Church of Christ where she remained a stellar soldier, and an exemplary example of commitment, dedication, and faith for over 44 years, until her health made her unable to attend in person.
Thelma dedicated her spare time and energy in the community visiting hospitals and nursing homes, taking the elderly to the grocery store, doctor visits, drug stores, shopping, and all other places they needed to go. Her loving and caring spirit was displayed with all her family, and extended beyond her immediate family. She loved her church, her community, her friends, and especially babies!
She is preceded in death by her husband Ruben Taylor, three brothers Wardell Adams Jr., Harvell Adams and Bonnie B. Adams, three sisters Ollie Mae Cross, Bessie Seigh and Avis Seigh.
She leaves to cherish her memory: son, Luther Ray Adams (Joyce); daughter, Patsy Roberson (Mark); daughter, Doris Taylor; son, Carvin Taylor (Sundra); ten grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and close friends.
