Thomas Ray "Tony" Skillern was born January 1, 1963, in Longview, Texas to the parentage of the late Lillie Mae Skillern Chumbley and the late Willie McDow. The Lord called him home Tuesday, August 2, 2022.
Tony was raised in Longview and grew up in the Lakeport Community. He met life‐long friends who later became the "River Rat Clan". He attended Longview I.S.D. and later enrolled and graduated from trucking academy through Werner Enterprise. Tony would spend more than 25 years doing what he loved to do which was driving 18‐ wheelers. It was this passion for driving that eventually led to his decision to relocate to Nacogdoches, Texas.
Thomas is survived by his father, Clyde Chumbley of Longview, TX; sisters, Jacqueline Skillern of Longview, TX, Shaylor Chumbley of Henderson, TX and Katrina Givens of Dallas, TX; brothers, Corwin "Marcus" Chumbley (Shurhonda) of Kilgore, TX, Derek McDow (Sharhonda), Derrick Givens (Stephanie), James McDow (Tara), Paul Givens (Danita), and Shad Givens all of Dallas, TX; a special friend, Stephanie Brewer of Nacogdoches, TX; along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
