Valpheaus Thompson Obituary

Mr. Valpheaus Thompson was born October 28, 1937 to the late Bryant and Ermil Thompson in Rusk County, Texas. He departed this life on April 17, 2019 at Regional Hospital in Longview, Texas.

Valpheaus attended and graduated from Henderson public schools. After working 10 years at Henderson Clay Company, he went on to retire with 30 years of employment with Rusk County Precinct 2 - Henderson, Texas.

On January 14, 1957, he was united in Holy Matrimony with Cleo Joyce Nelson whom he loved until his untimely death. To this union three children were born.

He was a member of Fredonia Baptist Church where he served as an usher and sang with the Waters Chapel Choir.

His greatest role in life was revealed as a loving father, grandfather, great‐grandfather and friend to all who knew him.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers Albert Thompson and William Bryant Thompson and one sister Mary Lou Wallace.

Those that remain to cherish his memory is one son, Willie Alfred (Earlene) Thompson; two daughters, Scherry Dean (Jerry) Barnes and Tarsha Renee (Christopher) Alexander; three granddaughters, LaSonya Thompson, LaTonya (Sean) Attaway, and Jasmine Thompson; eight grandsons, Antonio (Lazondreya) Thompson, Tobious Barnes, Tashad Alexander, Keshoyn Alexander, Brian (Ebony) Jimmerson, Wil Jimmerson, Tysin (Lindsey) Jimmerson, Brandon Rodgers; seventeen great‐grandchildren; two sisters‐in‐ law, Mary Jane Thompson, Katherine (Edward) Cox; four brothers‐in‐law, Orell Nelson, Charles (Madeline) Nelson, Bobby (Carolyn) Nelson, Eugene (Phyllis) Nelson, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
