Obituary
Vanessa Lorine Thomas was born August 10, 1966 to the parents of Dorothy Jones and M.C. Thomas.
She received her formal education in Gregg County and graduated from Longview High School with a certificate in cosmetology. Vanessa also graduated from Avalon College with a degree in accounting.
She enjoyed traveling, dancing and playing pool.
She retired from Sears after 20 years. She also loved being a “Nana” to her 4 grand babies: Zay, Angel, Amiyah and Alaya.
She dedicated her life to Christ at an early age. Her home church was Lewis Chapel C.M.E. Church.
Vanessa was preceded in death: father M.C. Thomas, sister Mary Coleman Morgan.
She leaves her precious memories to be treasured by her daughters: Jacoda Walker, Brittany Hicks and Keyauntra Austin; mother: Dorothy Jones Watkins; brothers: Willie James Coleman and Mickal Charles Thomas; bonus son and grand baby: Cardaleous and Janiya Johnson; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.
