Verda Marie Cox affectionately referred to as “Meatball” was born on August 7, 1953, to the parentage of the late Robert D. and Dorthy Jean Cox.
Verda spent her early years attending Hallsville school. She graduated in 1971 from Galilee Hallsville School. She furthered her education at Kilgore College.
She was a member of Golden Hill Missionary Baptist Church where she was an active member in the choir. Verda was also a member of Unique Riders Motorcycle club.
She worked at Stemco for many years until retirement.
She is survived by daughter: Kashida Bush; sons: Shimargin Cox (Kajuana), Joe Nathan Brown, Jr. (Cheryl), and Sedanio Brown (Alicia); brothers: Frank E. Cox and Wendell S. Cox (Jennifer); Uncle: Roosevelt Rodgers; Aunt: Lucille Carter; grandchildren: Peyton, Shimargin Jr., Breely, Aliyah, Kayla, Jordyn, Coby, Zane, Gavin, Keondra’ and La’Tayia. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
