Vernon Keith Mosley was born June 15, 1960, to the parentage of Palmer Mosley & Minnie Mosley in Tyler, TX. He was the second child of four children born to that union. He attended Marsh & Griffin Elementary and later graduated from John Tyler High School in 1978.
He enlisted in the United States Army in 1979 and was Honorably Discharged in 1982. Vernon was employed by the United States Postal Service for 36 years. He spent his retirement spending time with his loving wife, children, grandchildren, family, and close friends. He also enjoyed various activities that included: motorcycle racing, traveling, barbecuing, and frequently washing his many cars. He was outgoing, selfless, and loving, and always gave GREAT advice even if you didn’t ask for it.
Vernon was baptized at North Star Baptist Church at an early age and later united under Watch Care at New Jerusalem Baptist Church, under the leadership of his good friend, Rev. Lawrence E. Brown.
Vernon united in Holy Matrimony to Tara Gray on October 4, 2008.
He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Those left to cherish his memory: his loving wife, Tara Mosley; daughter, Aquia Craig (Michael); sons, Avery Henderson and Travelle Pettigrew (Kimberly); father, Palmer Mosley; mother, Minnie Mosley-Graham; brothers, Aaron Mosley, Tracy Mosley; sister, Felecia Pettigrew (Ravon); grandchildren, Kyla Asbell, Jaliyah McGowan, Macy Craig, Alijah Henderson, Traedyn, Trinston, and Troyce Pettigrew; nieces, Ambria Mosley, Adrian Mosley, and Cherdaviane Mosley; nephews, Tyrell Mon’tra Mosley, Marquis Mosley, Jared Mosley, his special nephew, Reginald Gipson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
