Ms. Violet Lois McCray Watkins Sein was born March 29, 1957 in Longview, Texas to Zettie Mae Gonerway and Julius McCray. Her siblings are known by William McCray (deceased), Laurell Harris Jernigan, Bobbie Jo McCray (deceased), Betty McCray-Brown (deceased), Marty Alexander, Alma Thompson, Donnie McCray and Bruce McCray.
Her wisdom and grace grew through Southside Elementary, Maggie B. Hudson Junior High, and Longview High School, where she graduated in the Class of 1975.
Ms. Violet's journey of family devotion began with her marriage to Lawrence D. Watkins and the birth of their first princess, Shelica N. Watkins. [Married, 2 children, 1 grandchild]
As a U.S. Army spouse, she followed him to Colorado Springs, Colorado where their second princess, Takesha D. Watkins entered this world.
In 1979, Ms. Violet returned to Longview, TX and began expressing her passion for hospitality by preparing meals, first at McDonald's, then at Luby's. She was awarded for unselfish service, dedicated loyalty, and lasting friendship to the Waffle Shoppe from 1982-1994. It was during those years that Ms. Violet presented her third princess, Jasmine M. Watkins. [Married, 3 children]
She became Mrs. Robert Sein in the second part of her journey. Together they introduced her only prince, Jamaal K. Sein.
After a brief time at Hot Biscuit, Joe Grill, and Good Shepherd Memorial, she continued her unprecedented dedication to the Waffle Shoppe until 2008.
Ms. Violet was a Christian believer, forever remembered for her unwavering commitment to those that she loved. She left a host of family, friends, nieces, and nephews to cherish her memories.
